GBH
I was assaulted in the summer and the person who done it was convicted of GBH and ordered to pay me £500,and got a 12month suspended sentence. Will i definetly get this money from the person? And also is it still possible for me to claim Criminal Injuries Compensation from CICA. I had 2 Broken bones in my jaw. Thanks

Some people try to avoid payment and seem to get away with doing so indefinitely, but anyone with a suspended sentence is unlikely to want to risk annoying the courts, so you probably stand a reasonable chance of receiving the money.
Can you get compensation from CICA? Probably. See here:

You are still entitled to claim criminal injuries for your injury, anfd if I was you I would pop down to the citizens advice bureau, or your local police station and they will explain who you will need to contact to get the forms to fill in.
With regard to your compensation, it is not definite that you will receive any monies. If your assailant was in employment with a minor offence history, you are more likely to get something but if not probably very little or nothing. There is not a willingness by the powers that be to chase individuals for compensation payments.
