I was about 10 when this song was in t'charts. I was quite naive & innocent then (!!!!) and I thought it was very rude and I blushed pink as I sort -of sang-along. I thought the song was about rubber johnnies and 'lay on me' was referring to 'the sex act'.

How that Age of Innocence is soon lost...

You'd be amazed how many reggae songs are about sex! I have been a fan of the genre since childhood but back then I had no idea that some of the stuff I sang along to was practically pornographic.lol
