I am with these dear people who deliver our mail for us, I hate the idea of the big guns bullying them into what will end up, part time jobs for all!

Postie has to avoid the splats all summer long............ She actually is great. Always prompt at around 7.30am, leaves parcels hidden out of sight and puts a little note through the door to tell you............... Lovely lady.
May I just thank some of the posters on here for support. I have not got time to read them all.
As a result of doing the extra work imposed on us, and after 20 years of delivering letters, I have developed a foot condition, and now face forced retirement, and the risk of losing my house. If I wanted and felt able to do more than my regular delivery I would have, but that choice was taken from me by some pen pusher who has probably never seen a mail bag let alone the seven full one's I delivered, looking at a spreadsheet and deciding that I do not work hard or fast enough.
To those who do not appreciate us making a stand, will your views still be the same when a casual postman dumps or steals your mail, or misdelivers it because english is not their first language, or when you are paying double what you pay now for a third class service.
Royal mail management is about saving money any way they can whilst at the same time getting huge bonuses. They instigated this with their Dickensian view on keeping the workers in place, and all they care about is money, not the public. You're nothing to them - take the lesson from PO closures.
