I am with these dear people who deliver our mail for us, I hate the idea of the big guns bullying them into what will end up, part time jobs for all!
I know! wrong section, but you lot don't dress the answers up, you say it as it is...lol

LL now going out to inspect her front door - the swallows have nested above it during the summer again!! Postie has to avoid the splats all summer long............ She actually is great. Always prompt at around 7.30am, leaves parcels hidden out of sight and puts a little note through the door to tell you............... Lovely lady.

The postmen round my way are lovely. They wear shorts even in the dead of winter and I particularly like the tall one with the dreadlocks.

(I've gone off Sam though - tart. He came on to me AND my daughter.)

I don't get my post till 12ish either 4get, but I doubt thats not not the fault of the resident postie, they will now have to do 1st and 2nd delivery, as was, at the same time, also I know they have to deliver a load of junk mail too

May I just thank some of the posters on here for support. I have not got time to read them all.

As a result of doing the extra work imposed on us, and after 20 years of delivering letters, I have developed a foot condition, and now face forced retirement, and the risk of losing my house. If I wanted and felt able to do more than my regular delivery I would have, but that choice was taken from me by some pen pusher who has probably never seen a mail bag let alone the seven full one's I delivered, looking at a spreadsheet and deciding that I do not work hard or fast enough.

To those who do not appreciate us making a stand, will your views still be the same when a casual postman dumps or steals your mail, or misdelivers it because english is not their first language, or when you are paying double what you pay now for a third class service.

Royal mail management is about saving money any way they can whilst at the same time getting huge bonuses. They instigated this with their Dickensian view on keeping the workers in place, and all they care about is money, not the public. You're nothing to them - take the lesson from PO closures.

Oh and Squad, senior management at the Royal Mail are the highest paid in the public sector. Adam Crozier et all are multi millionaires, got by CUTTING services.

Anyway must go. ITN want me for an interview....
