Cards and money in USA
Going on holiday in USA and wondering what is best method to pay for things. I have a maestro card (?) and could get a credit card if it would be better. I am wanting a card that I won't get charged money to use when I buy things!
Cheers

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.If a Maestro card is like a Switch Card?(Which I have)then I don't think it would be accepted in the US.I agree however with 10ClarionSt,take $Travellers Cheques;more to the point take American Express $ Travellers Cheques. We used these when we went to California, and they can be use almost like cash. You can pay for meals, hotel rooms etc,and even(sometimes get change in cash). Not only that but (god forbid)if you should lose/have them stolen,American Express cheques can be replaced in a couple of hours,in thousands of outlets.
One small point and I will finish. If you are thinking of hiring a car in the US,this will be IMPOSSIBLE without a Credit Card, they will just not consider it!
I hope this helps.
