my mother has written her will through her solicitor, who is also my brothers best mate, and he told my brother my mum was gonna come and do her will. She has done the will and has given a fair share of her equity to all her children, my brother didnt want the girls to have anything, he and my other brother wanted it all. can the solicitor, along with my brother change the will and forge mums signature, to how my brother wants it.

Wills written with undue influence can be contested - an expensive process but if you win in Court the loser pays. If your mother has lost trust with her solicitor, use another solicitor.

yes, and then they'll be arrested and probably go to prison. and you too, as you're conspiring to commit this crime.

what a ridiculous question I assume you're having a laugh.

oh no i think you got the wrong end of the stick, i complained to the solicitors regulation authority regarding a breech of confidentiality because my mum had told me that my brother knew she was doing her will, and the only way he knew was that his mate the solicitor had told him, so i complained coz i thing that shouldnt have happened, im not conspiring to commit this crime, and i dont think my brother is either, im just curious in case he ever did sumat like that, could he do it and what would happen if his mate/solicitor helped him and how would i prove that they have done that if they had, i would neva do such a thing, never broken the law in my life.honest!!!! im just concerned for my mum
then your mother needs to go and make her will elsewhere. what a bunch of cowboys!

lol!
all your mum has to do is make another will. The standard form will say that it revokes all previous wills, but I think it would do so by default anyway. Tell her to go and see another solicitor to do this. Tell her to leave the will in his hands, not take a copy home for family members to see.

yes i know im a bit dim at the best of times!!! i know its against the law, im not that dim.......but proving it is what gets the conviction, d'oh! it would be my word against theirs coz my mum wont be here 'obviously' to stick up for me
your mum could take a copy of her will and give it to you if you're worried.. but I think she should just go elsewhere.

thank u tamb and the rest of you
People like that are a disgrace to the profession!

Did they refund you mum the fee for doing the will seeing as she now wants to make another to make sure it is confidential?

I would also be tempted to ask the firm to pay for her to get it done elsewhere as part of the recompense.
Question Author
no refund, becuase they say that the legal secretary was witness to the will and she said she would never except the fact that someone would change the will and if they did she would speak up and not let it happen, she said her job is more important to her than some dodgy people. and a lot of people go to that solicitor in question and they seem to think he professional and wont let friendship get in the way of his profeesion! mum said she will leave it for now, as she is old and doesnt need the stress well just see wehat happens in the near future, hope to sort it one way or the other. thanks for your answers. i shall keep you updated
