Pirates Of The Caribbean

In the film "Pirates Of The Caribbean", the British hand the keys to the jailhouse over to a dog, which the pirates try to bribe with a bone. Surely it would be easier for the British to just leave the keys on a hook around the corner!! Why do they give the key to a dog?

The dog has lifted the keys while the guard sleeps.  If you have ever been on the Disney World ride on which the film is based, the scene is straight out of the ride

the whole film, pirates of the carribean is quite a dissapointment, to be honest. Johnny depp speaking with that forced english accent, was ridiculous. as for orlando bloom, well he can't act for toffee.

Don''t diss POTC it's the best film ever made. Plus it has got Jonny Depp and Orlando Bloom in it, what more could you ask for (apart from Heath Ledger obviously!).

Anyway it's a film every detail isn't meant to make sense is it?
