what make/model of tv?
in my experience these odd fautls are often caused by failing electrolytic capacitors.
I don't know about LCD TVs but the older CRT TVs used to go like a circular bullseye with green at the corners when they needed degaussing (demagnetising) and the TV Repair man used to turn up with a large circular magnet like a car steering wheel to sort it out. Maybe your TV is just starting to go faulty but thats only a guess. Like I said, I'm not sure about the newer LCD stuff.
