A blind cleaner.

In last night's Emmerdale, one of Betty's co-cleaners is the very irritating lecherous blind woman. (No protests please - just cos she's blind don't mean she can't be annoying or have desires....).
Anyway - I thought - how can you be an efficient cleaner when you're blind?
How do you know what's dirty in the first place?
How do you know you've got something clean & got in all the nooks & crannies?
I'm being quite serious here - I mean, God forbid if I were blind, my first career choice wouldn't be a cleaner would it?
