Hi pink,
how about the senseo coffee pod machine. It's a little more expensive to buy the pods than normal coffee, but it's what you're after regards above.

Meant to say pink, I think the pods contain everything, fresh ground coffee beans and the cream. Also, as you can see from the link, they sell hot chocholate ones. I've never used the senseo coffee pod method, may be someone on here has? It just seemed ideal for your parents needs! x

have you considered something like this? you use instant coffee, so it sounds pretty simple to me. I've been tempted to buy one myself. there are Breville models CM8, 9 and 10.. no idea what the difference is though!
I know this may sound a silly comment but are you SURE that they would actually like a coffee maker? I don't drink much coffee either and although I occasionally like a cappuncino or latte when I'm out, I certainly wouldn't another piece of equipment clutteirng up my small kitchen, especially if it isn't used very often. I'd check with them first. It's embarrassing when somebody gives you an unwanted gift and you feel you either have to use it or have it on show whenever they make an appearance.
My hubbie wanted to get a coffee machine and I let him get on with it as I don't drink a lot of coffee but will have a cappucino or hot chocolate when I'm out. Well he bought a tassimo and it makes gorgeous cappuccino, latte, hot chocolate, teas etc in seconds. I drink it a lot more often now I can have it at the touch of a button and for much less than at a restaurant or coffee shop! Plus they sell the pods in Tesco so its dead easy to stock up.

thanks for the advice,i think my parents would like one,my dads retired and loves gadgets,he would obviously have more in his own home if he had the facility to that is why i am going to buy them one, every time they have one out they are always saying they should get one.and they also have a large kitchen so it wouldn't be a problem.is tassimo the same as what sachs reccommended?i just buy the pod things?
Hi pink,
looks like the Tassimo with the t.disc work on the same principle? If you read the 'details' they mention a T.disc which I think is similar to a pod. Maybe bushbaby will explain it for you. I would look in the supermarkets too and compare pod/ disc availability/ prices. I know Tesco stock one or the other. Nice looking machine! x
Oops!! Forgot the link x Read 'details'

And one further comment, read the customer reviews too. Gives you a better idea x
I drink a lot of coffee and have tried many various coffee makers over the years. In the end, not wanting to spend the best part of £1000 for a semi-commercial machine, I've found that a simple cafétiere and a non-stick milk pan for scalding the milk is by far the best option.
I think the Tassimo retails at about £65 but you can get it cheaper online. A packet of T-discs are £3-£4 and usually contain enough discs for 16 drinks depending on what you buy, They are the same as the pods and you can either get them from the supermarket or buy them in bulk online from Tassimo website, which also sells exclusive flavours online. If you look at their website a lot of the big name coffee brands do a Tassimo T disc. The machine is super easy to use and even easier to clean as it comes with a special cleaning disc. Its very compact and sexy looking too - it comes in red, silver or black. I am very impressed, its the best coffee machine we've ever had.
the dolce gusto machine is an excellent machine, and delivers a great range of drinks. For a better quality, go for a Nespresso machine..
