Neutering or Spaying

I have 2 boxer dogs,one male and one female aged 2 and 3 respectively. can anyone tell me is it better to have my dog neutered or my *** spayed. We used to breed our dogs but have not since 2006

I agree, even if you had the dog castrated, he may well still be interested in the *** when she is in season, as will all the dogs in the neighbourhood. Apart from pyometra, there is also the risk of mammary tumours in unspayed ***. There is a slight risk to uncastrated males from prostate cancer, but it is very slight and unless he is a 'wanderer' I would not bother...

Personally I have managed to keep intact dogs and *** for some years, but if I had to choose, I would probably have the *** spayed, as this will avoid unwanted attention from other dogs too, and save the added worry of a pyometra.
