carpal tunnel syndrome
I'm suffering really badly in my right hand. I have read a few bits about it on the net and it says it usually effects the thumb, index finger and middle finger. I am only really getting it in my middle finger and finger next to it, sometimes index finger.
During the night it gets worse and I have a really nasty ache all down my forearm and elbow.
I have read that moving it during the night, shaking my hand etc can relieve the pain/numbness but this doesn't really work and it is now keeping me up alot of the night.
Has anyone else suffered from this? What did you do to relieve the pain? What can I do?
Thank you

Go and see your GP and he may prescribe Diclofenac Sodium to relieve the pain and reduce inflammation. If it becomes very bad, you may need a surgical decompression.
Good luck.

hi i had that
i to got it through the night. i'd wake and couldn't feel my arms
i never done anything whilst i was pregnant but it was still doing it afer i had the baby
i then went to the doctors and she refered me to the carple tunnel man at the hospital. i wasn't bad enough for an operation and they were going to review it in september. i'm now pregnant again so their was no point going to the review so i've just to wait and see how i am after this pregnancy

I had problems with Carpal tunnel syndrome during all four of my pregnancies and was referred to the physiotherapist. I was given a splint to wear at night time and told to lie with my affected arm slightly raised i.e. on the pillow beside your head. If you mention it at one of your antenatal checks they will probably refer you. Thankfully the problem disappeared within about a month of each birth. Good luck!
