Hi everyone - we're renting a place at the moment and only have a fridge the size of a shoebox. We want to buy a cheap fridge freezer that'll last us for a year or two. Can anyone recommend one that's not too expensive and is also reliable. It's also handy to know the brands to avoid. Hopefully there may be some deals around at the moment. We'd like a 50/50 split between fridge and freezer if poss.

Many thanks.

Beko is a cheap brand, dont know about the quality though.Put kelkoo in your browser or google then ask on there. Its a price comparison site.
We have just got rid of a LEC Fridge/freezer after 22 years service. It was still working but looked tatty and the door seals were up for replacement.
We replaced it with a Hoover F/Freezer.
I wouldnt recommend Beko. Cheap & uncheerful.
If Candy are still on the go I had one for 20 years
If you have an Age Concern or British Heart Foundation Furniture reycycling warehouse near you, check them out. They often have good quality equipment that has been recycled because people are getting their kitchens refitted and you may be able to pick up something suitable very cheaply. Fridge/freezers don't have any moving parts so often last for years and years. Alternatively check out any electrical stores in your area which sell reconditioned equipment. We've found Hotpoint & Frididaire equipment very reliable
