Hi everyone! This should probably be in “Electronics”, but I think most of the people that can answer will be in here...
I’ve been helping an elderly neighbour new to cryptic crosswords & she’s getting on quite well. The problem comes when she needs to check a dictionary, as they’re too heavy for her. Her fingers are quite nimble though, so I’d like to buy her an electronic solver – if they’re any good?
I’ve never used one & while I’ve looked at various Net reviews, I’d much rather trust the judgement of my fellow AB’ers!
Something with - at least - a comprehensive dictionary & an anagram solver? I’d be most grateful for any comments on models that you’ve had experience of & any further assistance you can offer.
Chambers is pretty good with an anagram solving facility. It falls down on proper nouns.
Oxford is better than Chambers for proper nouns but isn't as comprehensive as Chambers.
Apparently Bradshaws is about the best but it is also the most expensive.
