Windscreen washer water bottle leaking

Hi,
I have a Ford Mondeo and need help to repair leaking water bottle please? Is there an easy way to do this? I can see the water escaping under the car as I fill it up.
Thanks for any advice.

my motor bike was stolen on my driveway i'm insured and tax'd but just found out my mot expired 6 weeks ago.am i still insured?

I think the fault will be a loose pipe,very common on mondeos, remove the lower panel torx screws to reveal the bottom of the washer bottle and the pump, usually a pipe will have come off the pump outlet, there is very little freeplay in these pipes so it can be quite fiddly to refit,especially when lying on your back.good luck.

I think that you will have to remove the washer bottle whether you want to repair the leak or replace it for a new one,

Thanks for your answers. We thought of plastic bag too, but on looking in bottle there isnt a tube that goes down, like a water sprayer, just an empty bottle. So maybe the tube is at the bottom of bottle or outside?
Think we will have to remove it to see. Any ideas on how to repair leak on plastic bottle please? We have MOT in a few days, and no time to order new one.

When you remove the bottle if it is a crack or a split if you put some super glue on it and let the glue set then i think that ought to fix the leak.

My old fella told me he has never ever checked a washer when giving a MOT

lindylou, i think eileenjune dosn't want a empty windscreen bottle ( due to leaking ) when she takes her car for the MOT, it will fail the MOT if the washers don't work.

We will have to remove bottle, which we didnt want to do as looks like a big job ! If we can do it, will try super glue........thanks Tony. We are in France so not sure if they test like UK, think they are strict here.

quite common for the pump outlet to snap off...

The MOT did pick it up, but didn't fail on it (lindylou), just recommended it be done. We have ordered a new cat . as did fail on that! So will ask the mechanic to look at water bottle at same time. As you say Hugh, can be complicated, and car is old, so could do more damage.
Best left to the people who know.
