your best chance is to work out of Aberdeen, it's full of all the major oil companies world headquarters as well 1000's of service oil companies. If you dobn't have any form of qualification (engineering degree etc.) then you will need to start off as a roughneck or a general labourer as maintenance is being carrous out on the platforms all the time, or even get into the catering side of things.
If this is what you really want to do, then there is many empoyment agencies in Aberdeen who will be able to help you move on with this.
When you have your foot in the door, you can work up from there and eventually, if you want to, be able to work in other Countries, which is very likely as the UK market is quiet right now whereas Australasia and Russia are flourishing at an unbelieveable speed.
Good luck

This is the local Aberdeen newspaper which is a good place to start. Aberdeen is full of agencies recruiting for the Oil & Gas industry, and it's a very buoyant market at the moment.
