I found Liquid Glucose, which looks and tastes very much like light corn syrup. The listed ingredients state that it is "liquid glucose" but does not give the source.
Sorry to say I haven't used this product yet but I am about to make some hard candy, I tried the hard candy recipe with the golden syrup but the results were not the best. The brand name I found is Super Cook and the size is 140g -not very big-. I found this product at Safeway and Sainsburry's in NI; I am sure Tesco's has it as well. The price at Safeway was .49p in Sainsbury's it was 1.04 - big difference in price.
