Is psychology a science?

I know that this is an old chestnut - but I would be interested in your views - Please give reasons for your opinion

Science is subdivided into two categories

- Natural sciences, the study of the natural world, and
- Social sciences, the systematic study of human behaviour and society.

Psychology is a Social Science.

Scientific method is applied to acquiring new knowledge in Psychology. Use of observation, the formulation of Hypotheses and testing by controlled experiment, repeatability and the drawing of conclusions.
