What were the songs/chants in the 70's used while playing skip rope with friends on the street or backgarden. I can remember one that went on about the sea or something like it. I need these coz my girls are starting to play with skip ropes now.

The only 'sea' song I remember was more for clapping hands to with your friend, and went 'A sailor went to sea, sea, sea, to see what he could see, see, see, but all that he could see, see, see, was the bottom of the deep blue sea, sea, sea'! I'll put my thinking cap on and try to remember some others if I can!
I've just typed 'skipping songs' into Google, and a few sites came up which have the words to both skipping and clapping songs. There are one or two I recognise there, so give it a go and see if there are any you recall too!
