I was dating a man up until a month ago, and when he finished things with me I deleted his number and messages. But recently I received a message from him asking how I was, what I'd been doing and saying he heard I was soon to be in the area and he said it will be good to see me.

Now, why if you finished with someone would you keep their number? And is this text a way of saving face and offering an olive branch or is there more to it? Thanks.
