No weekend section in my paper today. Went back to the newsagent and been through all the telegraphs- no weekend section in any of them!? Anyone else had a problem?
The section must not have been delivered to your newsagent, we have had no problem. Could you contact the Telegraph? The Times certainly sends out the missing bits if you contact them.
Roslyn - just found your thread
I have had problems with the Telegraph from time to time and it seems to lie with the wholesaler who delivers to our local shops - in one village three miles to the north they always have every section (Smiths I think) in one three miles to the south they often have missing sections (Menzies I think) - the poor old coner shops cannot do much about it - when missing a section I just pick it up from another shop but I have been lucky
John
Thank you Rollo & John. My husband (kind fellow!) has been to the next village and got me one now, so I can make a somewhat late start to the puzzles!!
How disappointing as the main crossword, I always check for all the sections in the shop before I buy and if
I was you I would tell newsagent that paper was incomplete and rquest your money back as I do feel the
shopkeeper should check before they sell or contact their dealer and insist they send all the sections. good luck but best to check before you buy I then point out if any section is missing and if they don't produce it I don't buy.
Same problem a couple of weeks ago, explained to the Telegraph and I received the missing items by post a few days later, too late to do the crosswords. I always used to check the contents, but saturday's is so bulky I slipped up, II have resumed the practice.
it has happened to me, now I always check in the shop to makesure its there, very annoying when u get home. if this happens the shops in the surrounding area will all be in the same boat, you have to drive a little way out to find one or try Tescos etc because they wont do it to the big chains.
Everything except the main paper and sports section was in a polythene sealed bag and the magazine section was in a further sealed bag inside that.( In Leicester WHS branch.)
most of the supplements ie those that don't have news or sports are delivered two or three days before the main body of the paper and some shops just don't bother to put the paper together. Even worse are those who deliver and leave it to the boys and girls to assemble all the bits. And obviously due to the weight some just don't bother.
