Hi, Can someone solve this mystery ? When I call up the answerbank ,the site opens as usual, I then get a box from IE ( in the middle of the screen, in front of the site) telling me it can't find the site-and stating 'operation aborted.' ,which I have to click OK to close. I also get thebackground page ' I--- E--- cannot find this site 'hidden behind the site'This seems weird as if it cant find the site how is it that i'm in it. I know this sounds mad but it's been doing this all week . Any ideas??
Thank you both, at least I now know it's not a problem with my PC , which has been playing up lately. Drew, I already have Firefox installed , just don't like the layout. One of lifes mysterys, I must stop giving a free home to the 'grelins'
Oddly enough today for the firat time i've had this problem. I have AnswerBank saved in favourites and this morning when i clicked on it a grey box said that the page couldn't be found etc.
I've had to come via Google- wasting valuable seconds ;-)
I'll take a stab in the dark here, it sounds like you have some sort of advert or popup blocker installed and it either an advert or a poopup that is being blocked hence IE giving a page not found error.
Doesn't exactly explain why this is suddenly happeneing, to more than one person, but maybe there's some new ad on here that's upset things. I'm having no trouble on Firefox
I'm also having no problems either on any computer I use, all with firefox, I was just thinking maybe there is a common anti popup or anti advert software that all the people have in common that are having problems.
No idea what it was. I've since re-added it to favourites and so far, touch wood, it's not happened again. Mind you saying that, it's no biggy if it does, it's not like AB is hard to find anyway- i'll live with it :-)
I don't believe we have any pop-ups on The AnswerBank. I will check to see if we can find any answers for you all. I have not experienced this problem with any browser thus far today.
