Does such a thing exist? We just can't find a job that pays enough to live on for my husband to do (just how do people do it?), it's so terribly frustratiing not being able to do anything about the money situation. My mum used to do homework when I were small..but it doesn't seem to exist anymore. They all want money upfront or the genuine one's are taken (like greetings cards) and I'd be in someone's territory!

Thanks to people (like Esther Rantzen) revealing that these "homework" jobs were really slave labour in disguise, most of them have since disappeared;and I must say good riddance. They were all a scam/con,and at best just a work "chain letter".

Having said that, even a part time outside job would pay better, and give you better conditions of work than a "homework" job ever could.

Thanks for the reply..I thought as much. Any work outside home is impossible as I have 2 children, can't drive (because I have no money for lessons..vicious circle!) and a husband with very unpredictable hours.
But, on the other hand, don't close the door on homebound employment entirely.  Firstly, make an inventory of your skills, assets and interests.  For example, you obviously have a computer and possess some typing skills.  We have acquaintances that do transcription work for various small business such as attorneys, teachers and students.  A small, inexpensive advertisement in a local paper could produce some results.  Or just some door knocking at appropriate business.  Just cut out the middleman... don't pay someone else to provide you the work.  It may not be transcription.  I also know ladies that do ironing at over $1.50 per shirt.  It takes about 10 minutes to do one shirt, meaning that about 6 could be done in an hour or nearly $10 per hour... not bad when the minimum wage is $5.50... and no middleman.  Again, these are only examples... Good luck...

Not sure if this is helpful or not, but you might consider childminding which allows you to stay at home with your children, getting paid to look after up to 3 other children.  Enquire with your Local Authority initially if interested.  Also, once your children are in school, you may be able to work 9am-12noon as a playgroup or classroom assistant.

I did some homework for a while - complete waste of time. However, why not try something like selling on ebay? I scout round boot sales for books and stuff, then resell them. You can also be a seller's assistant, where you sell stuff for someone else and take a percentage of the profits.

I work part time as a mystery shopper as well. I do outside jobs (local shops etc.), but there is a site that employs mystery shoppers to review websites, so you can do this entirely from home. It's called something like emysteryshopper - try google. Money isn't great, but I've done some work for them and it's a reliable company. If you are prepared to do outside jobs, the money is much better - try cybershoppers / NOP if you are interested. They are the company I work for and are great. You pick the jobs you want and the times you want to do them - there are no set hours, so usually it's VERY flexible.

If you've got a skill, try something with that. I used to make and mend jewellery from home, then I did cross stitch items, flowered hats, homemade cards etc., and sold them. I also did freelance cooking - got a couple of local cafes to buy homemade cakes and stuff off me.

Lastly, if nothing else appeals, why not try something like advertising for ironing etc.? Not terribly exciting, but might bring in some money.

Homework isn't easy to find, but with a bit of inventive thinking, you can usually come up with something.

think up a wicked website idea like "answerbank" but obviously not this one cos it is good as it is, but think one up, set up the website and then go to tradedoubler.com and see how u can place adverts and banners on your site that bring in revenue. i did this with a small site once a couple of years ago and it was bringing in about 100 a month and that was without me trying to get visitiors to my site.

Most homeworking schemes are a load of tosh and just scams,I know as i have tried a lot of them in desperation like u are, needing more money to just get by in life. however u might find a few ideas if u check out Freelancers.com or sites similar to that where u can get employed as a freelance worker or self employed working for a company,  i tried a couple and found a job working completely from home on a computer (usually as i am looking at answerbank) that i have done for 18 months now and i am now earning 9 - 14 an hour doing it. There is hope out there if u look hard and find it so dont give up
