Hi Cornelia, no I'm not doing this quiz, but if I read the main clue as Mesmerised Girl.....
....and the cryptic part, felt superior to a man, as meaning something made of felt on a man's head, then yes, I think your answer and clue are both correct.
(I assume the author's initials are GDM)
