Hi,does anyone know where I can get the Hamlyn cookbook,I believe it's the 80's edition(there was 1 in 1976+more in the 90's+00's) I want that particular edition because we used to have it and its been misplaced somewhere for some years.I used to love looking through it as a kid and the 'groovy' wonderful colour pictures (im only 21). Ive looked at their site but no info, all over the net/amazon but as no pic seems to be available I cant make sure its the 1 I want+have not purchased any on offer. It was a big black hardback with colour photos of food on the cover.

I have one called the Hamlyn All Colour Cookbook, printed in 1981. It is black hardback with pictures of: a quiche, a big strawberry pavlova, a dundee cake and a casserole of ratatouille on the front - not sure if it's the one you are looking for. The ISBN no. is 0 600 34334 0. It may be out of print, or you may be able to order it. Good Luck

Thank you sooo much, Im glad someone knows what Im on about :)  I did an ISBN search and there are many available to buy second hand, although I wouldnt usually care to buy used books (snob?!) I may just do so. I did see one book described as new, but that was on the Japanese Amazon site so I cant understand it(site)! and order.

thanks for your help

Did you see the one on Ebay.    No-one has bid on it yet - starting price 80 pence.    It's just got over a day to go.    Worth thinking about if it's the one you want, even if you have to wipe it over with disinfectant when you receive it.

I've got one (Copyright The Hamlyn Publishing Group Limited 1970.  Fourteenth impression 1976).

The ISBN number is the same as the one given by kazzareee.

Have a good browse around second-hand bookshops.

Ive just been on ebay (for the 1st time ever, thank u janoel & mega lol @disinfectant comment) i couldnt see the 80p one but saw one for 2.99 plus 5.00 p&p. seems alot for p&p but I made a bid anyway for minimum price. ...Now im gutted because Ive just found the 80p one- doh!!  >:\

as a result of my mission Ive learnt that they're bringing an 'all-new' version next month. Would be interesting to compare the two. Personally I think the old 1 is quite kitch and cool and will come in useful for new flat in final year of uni. Thanks everyone
