Paul O`Grady`s pet dog Buster has died of the big C.

same happened to my max on Monday and so i know exactly how it feels, like someone's missing when you walk in the door, too quiet.

Oh! dot I know, my little friend is not good, it's just a matter of time, and not much of it, he's 14 with lots of problems, our vet is wonderful! but I know the time is near, and I dread the day!!!

Oh it is just heart breaking dot isn't it. However, for me, after time it did become a consolation that I was able to stop my lovely girls suffering.

Bingo is 14 and has lots of problems and has had for years, Max was fighting fit up until a short while ago when he developed diabetes but last friday he just went into a fast decline, his liver was shutting down due to a tumour, even my grandson said he never dreamt max would go before Bingo. Paul O'grady will be devastated and I bet it is a very emotional show for him to do.

Oh yes dot, it will be very hard for him, my little Ollie is a diabetic, he has been for nearly 4 years now, he has now become almost blind, but he's still looking forward to his walks etc, but he sleeps most of the time, it's so sad, my vet's great, he says that Ollie's not in pain, and is familiar with his surroundings, and so for now, we can carry on, but I just know, it won't be for much longer, he's an old man now, bless him...........................

welshlibranr - I was in the same situation as you a couple of years ago and I was worried about how I would know when the time had come to make the big decision.
However someone on this site (I think it was lankeela) told me that it is better doing it one day too soon than one moment too late. It was the best piece of advice I think I have ever been given.
When she started to deteriorate we decided that it was time to make an appointment and, although it was hard, we were with her when she peacefully and painlessly passed away. Looking back now I am so pleased that we didn't wait until she started to yelp or cry when it would have turned into a bit of a panic and a stressful situation for her and us. The extra few days (or maybe even weeks) that we might have had would not have been worth it to have seen her be in extreme pain or distress at the end.
I hope Paul O'Grady also had the opportunity to make Busters passing peaceful.
