'Dry Clean' at home!!!

My 17 year old daughter recently bought this blazer: http://www.newlook.co...1/ProductDetails.aspx
The material is 97% cotton, 3% Elastane
The lining is 100% cotton
The sleeve lining is 100% Polyester
It says 'Dry Clean Only'
As this jacket is going to get an awful lot of wear, is it okay to wash it at home? And if so how?

If it says dry clean only, I wouldnt risk washing it by any other method, as if it loses its shape you won't be able to return it and say it was poor quality if you haven't followed the washing instructions

I also find that with something like that, the longer you can hold off getting it washed the better, as soon as you wash it the first time it will need washed quicker the second time

I used to work in a dry cleaners and there are some things that say dry clean only that can go in the washing machine on a col/cold wash
Where is says dryclean only is the symbol a p in a circle?

A lot of manufacturers used to state "Dry Clean Only" just to cover themselves.

You might want to try Dr Beckmann dry cleaning sachets - you can get them at Tesco for about £3 or a pack of three. You use an impregnated cloth to clean any marks and then tumble dry the garment/s on the lowest heat setting for 20 mins (most are too cool to do any damage or shrink anything even delicates. Items come out lovely and fresh.
