Earlier this eavning my neighbour came round and told me that a black cat with a red collar had been hit by a car and died, thinking it was my cat. It's actually my brothers cat, who lives next door and he and his family are away for the weekend. We havnt been able to get hold of them and I really dont know what I should do with the cat. It sounds cruel but at the moment he is wrapped in a towel, then in a box in the shed because we dont want my kitten to be able to get to him. I really don't know wha to do with him. can anyone help please!
A couple of years ago, when our "old lady" cat died,we put her in the chest freezer(which was practically empty) in the garage,as it was Summer.Only problem was we had to defrost her before we could cremate her (This is true!)
Sorry to hear of the situation. Would it not be kinder to ask the vet to dispose of the cat, but keep the collar and just explain to your brother what happened? No real need for him to see the body is there, and he'll probably be upset enough.
Thanks for your answers. We decided last night to bury him at the end of my borthers garden and kept the collar as thats what they did with their other cat.
