Over 18 to buy crackers?
27 Answers
I saw this letter in the Daily Telegraph today:-
SIR - Yesterday, I bought Christmas crackers from Tesco using their self-service checkout. The automated till would not complete the transaction until a shop assistant had checked that I was over 18 years old.
Why has this Government introduced such absurd regulations, to the extent that crackers are treated as 'explosives' that only adults can handle?
M.S.
Seaford, East Sussex.
I am just wondering if anyone else has had the same experience as M.S. from Seaford?

Hiya Joy - sorry I did'nt answer you sooner - just been calming my Mum down on the phone.
I also had a couple of Christmas jobs in shops when Glen was little - I worked on the jewellery counter in Argos and absolutely loved it and then worked on a Saturday in BeWise for about a year. That ended when I was threatened with a knife for the till takings.
I did'nt every think I could work in a shop as I am sh!te at adding up. My worse nightmare was when a little kid brought in their jar full of 1p and 2p pieces to buy their Mum a Christmas present.

I've had grown ups come in when I worked on the Lottery/cigarettes, with a pile of shrapnel, they must have emptied their 'bottle' bl00dy annoying wou have a Q waiting to be served !
I had anotherawful woman come in to return a bunch of flowers she had bought for 50p when they were out of date, she said the petals were falling off, I refunded her 50p...but Oh No!!! she wanted more, when I told her I could only refund the amount she paid for them, she pointed to the Refund and Replace notice on the CS Desk, I told her politley, this was only effective foe full price items as stated in the notic, next morning, the tw@t phoned head office, complained about me, the Manager laughed about it but said I must give her a full bouquet of flowers worth £12 + a bottle of her chosen wine and a box of Milk Tray when she came in to store to see me, I was effin furious to say the least, I sometimes see the cow, and I look daggers at her
