Banks/ overdrafts

I know a lot of people were waiting to hear the outcome of these cases. The banks won, thank goodness!

Excellent, excellent news. I could never see this going through. People are fully aware of the terms and conditions when they sign up for bank accounts. How did they ever hope to be able to claim this back.

I agree another-view, a lot of people have never had a charge on their account for overdrafts, if the banks had lost, they would all have to suffer as banks started to charge everyone for god knows what to make up the money!

Sqad - as long as these charges are made clear then yes. They are businesses, not charities

Good points above, if irresponsible J Arthurs can't be charged exhorbitant fees then the banks will get it off of us who act within the rules. I haven't paid a penny in charges for years and the banks would have to get their dosh off people like me if the indisciplined couldn't control their spending.
