Many years ago,I read a short story and I think it was by Arthur Quiller Couch. It was about a young boy who was travelling across the sea with his father/uncle/grandfather who told him that the place they were going to visit was paved with gold. He died before he reached land but he saw the lights in the distance and was happy.
Can anybody tell me the name of this story and where I might find it??
Lucca i did what you suggested and eventually found the title which is Conspiracy aboard the Midas and i was able to read it again online 40p plus years on from the last time i did so.
