help with running an old game with windows xp

I get this prompt when I try to load DUNE2000 on my old computer.
"The system file is not suitable for running ms-dos and microsoft windows applications".
Is there anyway I can get it to run please?

you cold try right clicking on the main .exe file for the game, select properties and then click on the compatibility tab and put a tick in the run this program in compatibility mode.

Not sure if it will work, but worth a try.

Thanks for that, tried it 3 times but it didn't work. Not sure if program is in computer as error message appear on install. Any other ideas that you can think of?

I think the compatibility mode will only work once the actual game is installed.

What error do you get when installing?

Everything I can see says it should work with the compatibility mode (set it to window98/me) you will also probably need the latest update for the game.

This comes up when I put the disc in:

the install should work!

It's not a problem with the game, you have another problem that is stopping the game from loading.

Hi Chuck,
Thank you so much for the link to worldstart............it worked ! There were 2 files missing and had to copy and paste them back in.
My hubby is now playing his favourite game and it's like xmas morning for him lol
