emails not from me......

I have discovered an email that has been sent to everyone in my address book (incl. people and businesses I do not contact) that appears to be from me. I clearly dd not send it so need advice. My broadband is secure and I have Norton on the computer - could someone be hacking into my account as I've not noticed anything else?

change your password maybe.

My hotmail (and many of my friends in the past) has been hacked recently and all my contacts were emailed about a store selling electrical goods. I changed my password and nothing untoward has happened since

Indeed. You will be have been unwittingly tricked into giving your email password out. Change it and the fake emails will stop.

Thank you - I certainly haven't given out my password but I've just changed it so hope that's the end of the dodgy emails.
