I'm applying for a new job and on the application form it says "Please enclose, on a separate sheet and in your own style, your reasons for applying for this position".  Does "own style" mean your own handwriting?  What do you ABers think?

A 'style' is a customary manner of presenting material e.g. a formal letter should start Dear Sir or Madam and end Yours faithfully.

I think it is more in reference to the overall layout of your response i.e. not following a regimented, form-like layout (unless that is the style you choose).

I think kempie is quite right. The company wants to know how you write. Perhaps the position you are seeking requires you to write letters or policies or something.

I'm a recruitment manager for a large company. I immediately disregard anyone who doesn't follow exact application instructions. If I want/need a CV I'll ask for it.
In your own style means not only in your own handwriting but also your own language. A tip though, don't use slang!
