my 10year old cousin asked me about him, i tried to explain he wasnt well, then as kids are so clued up she said but drugs are bad why is he so famous... to go with it all its not like she is into the music she has never even heard of the babyshambles or the libertines.
well for a starter, kate moss doesnt need dragging down, shes always led that kind of lifestyle.
i do think the way the press report on everything he does now is a bit ridiculous, considering its only because of his relationship with kate moss, but its not his fault is it? some people just love the scandal but i love the music too, both libertines albums are great, his solo stuff and babyshambles stuff is good too!
i dont think its his fault that the press choose to report on stuff he does and hes just doing what he wants to do really isnt he, he didnt set out to be a good example to people, he set out to make good music.
n now you are all just goin to say, well he is an example n he should be responsible but thats not really for us to decide is it!
...he also chose an impossible song to cover (Children of the Revolution by T.Rex), he could not have pulled this song off in a month of Sundays. Nor could anyone else either: the fact that Marc Bolan only got it to No.2 despite his best endeavours and at the peak of his brilliance, is another indicator that this song takes no prisoners.
I'm sure Pete D. got that 'great' karaoke moment 20 seconds into the song, when he knew that it just wasn't going to happen, and through the blur of his mind he was thinking "Why on earth did I (or Elton) choose this song......I'm sunk." Probably better to wreck it when half cut, than totally sober as well....

I think Pete Doherty's a revolting little oik. Can't understand why Sir Bob even thought of getting him involved with Live8 in the first place .... I'm sure I read somehere that Bob only wanted artists with global impact to appear in order to ensure the cause was given as much exposure as possible.
Don't think much of Kate Moss either ... have always thought she's come across as a spoilt little madam, but guess that's besides the point.
Re: Children of the Revolution being impossible to cover, Bono didn't make too bad a job of it on the Moulin Rouge soundtrack .......
As for him leading Kate Moss astray, does anyone remember when she was dating Jonny Depp? Wasn't it river Phoenix who died for a drugs overdose, in Jonny's club 'The Viper Room'? I really can't see her needing Pete to be led astray, sure she does a great job all on her own!
Anyone else?
