Tool bar has moved from base of screen to right hand side.

Help please. The tool bar which shows which applications are in use, i.e. Outlook Express, Word, Excel etc, which is normally displayed at the bottom of my screen has somehow moved to the right hand side of the screen. I must have done something inadvertently but can't figure out how to get it back to the bottom of the screen. How do I do it? thanks.
