Hi - just got Sky plus today - learning how to use it - but it appears we have to keep entering a PIN code each time we go to a movie channel - this is becoming annoying already. How do we turn it off please so we don't have to keep entering this number. Only 2 responsible adults in the house!

You only need to enter a pin if the film you want to watch is an "adult" (as in 15 or 18) movie and it is being shown before the watershed (8pm on Sky I think).

I dont think there is any way of turning it off.
I found this:
"To change or disable these parental control options, go to 'Services' > 'Parental Control', enter your four digit PIN code and select 'Other restrictions'. Here you'll have the option to enable/disable PIN prompts when trying to play back a programme before watershed (Sky+), to demand PIN entry before going online, PIN-protecting recorded programmes on Sky+, and to set spending restrictions."

In the UK premium subscription film channels must have PIN protection for films rated BBFC 15 or higher between the hours 05:30 and 20:00 (21:00 for BBFC 18) under the Ofcom Broadcasting Code. This is not optional therefore user settings cannot circumvent this situation.

"This is not optional therefore user settings cannot circumvent this situation. "
This seems to be your own interpretation of the rules. Reading the page from your link, I can find no such statement.
1.22 Premium subscription film services may broadcast up to BBFC 15-rated films or their equivalent, at any time of day provided:

• there is a protection system (a mandatory PIN or other equivalent protection) pre-2000 and post-0530, that seeks satisfactorily to restrict access solely to those authorised to view when material other than BBFC U-rated or PG-rated or their equivalents is shown; and
• those security systems which are in place to protect children are clearly explained to all subscribers.
Saving Private Ryan was on Sky TV Movies this afternoon and to watch it I had to type in my PIN.

I changed all the options under parental control and none of them allowed me to watch the film without typing in the PIN.

As I said, I dont think you can turn this off (not for "live" films anyway), maybe you can for prerecorded films.
ABerrant, I thought I'd made it clear that the sentence I was referring to was: "This is not optional therefore user settings cannot circumvent this situation."
Mandatory = not optional

If Sky allowed end users to 'switch off' the mandatory PIN protection for relevant content between 05:30 and 20:00 they would be in breach of the broadcasting code.
