Ryanair to Spain

My husbands passport is not back from renewal and may not be before Our date to travel to Spain . We have booked online checkin as this was the only option. Can he use his UK driving licence as photo ID.? We are traveling with Ryanair.

Not only is a UK passport the only option for a UK citizen to travel to mainland Europe but Spanish Customs also require the passport number to be logged with them prior to boarding the aircraft.

What timescales are you looking at i.e. when was the renewal application sent and when do you fly?

Three weeks ago I applied for my passport to be renewed and it was delivered 12 days later.

You can ring up the passport people and arrange to collect it if it's not already in the post.

You can travel with the UK drivers licence, but, the document that you have in your boarding card should be the same that you show in the boarding gate. If it doesn't match you cannot board. Anyway, as you dont have the details of the new passport I think you wouldn't check in with a 1not valid" passport, so, use your Driv. lic. and have a nice stay!:)
