Around the world....
3 Answers
If you tie a string around the whole world at the equator, the length of the string is obvoiusly the distance around the world at the equator.
Now, imagine that the string is actually elastic, and you stretch it out so that the elastic is 1cm above the worlds surface, all the way around.
How much longer is the elastic than the inital string?
