skin itch on dogs

my little 6yr old terrier cross has developed a itch all over her body i have had her at the vets twice and has been given injections which hasnt seemed to work he told me that if the injections didnt work she would have to go on tablets for the rest of her life has anybody had a dog with this problem.

what is causing the itch? there are loads of things that do. What were the injections? What tablets is the vet proposing?Are there any other symptoms?

Happens a lot in winter as dogs get hot from c.heating & fleas hatching etc.

Microwave any blankets the dog uses for 30sec (kills flea eggs). Crush garlic & pour hot water over (infused garlic). Pour into spray bottle, top up with cold water. Spray dog & brush into coat.
