BAROLO DOCG
Barolo can be tough and tannic, but not this one. It's rich, perfumed, and herby. You'll be impressed!
What Our Expert Said
Like all Barolo, this is made 100% from the rich, savoury-flavoured Nebbiolo grape grown on the Alpine foothills of north-west Italy. From respected producer Ascheri, it has been made in a less tannic, fruitier style than the austere, traditional Barolos. This style of Barolo chimes in perfectly with the flavour of roast duck, calves' (or other) liver, kidneys, grouse, and other meaty dishes flavoured with thyme or oregano. Or enjoy it with a good, ripe Milleens cheese from Ireland.
