marine conservation gap year

If i take a gap year, doing a similar course to these (will probably have changed by the time i finish 6th form) http://www.gapyeardiv...onservation_index.htm
it will give me relevant experience with marine conservation ect, does this increase my chance of getting onto a marine biology uni course, as it is relevant experience and something that a marine biology employer would be looking for?

But most of the trips are only for a few weeks so maybe i could do it in the summer holiday between 6th form and uni?
