MM Links Solutions December 2009 [Week 1]

Well, Princess Di (aka grannydi) was able to hold off the snipers for a short while only using her theme “The War Years” and her links:

STINK Bomb
ACID Drop
ANIMAL Shelter
SWEET Ration

After just ten minutes her link had all been exposed.

1st time on this quiz. Score 0/4 ah well there's always next week

The early rush of the first eight entrants brought no reward. These included new comer caslass, who showed quite some imagination in her predictions. I predict that she could be a future MM Champion! In fact, many entrants showed an awesome degree of lateral thinking with their submissions.

However it took the ninth entrant, miss meg, who was the first to remember sucking ACID DROPs for TWO POINTS. She was quickly followed by a list of similar “suckers” including beejay1124 & tearinghair. Others were cliffyg, who added ANIMAL SHELTER to his ACID DROP and Strix who doubled up with SWEET RATION ~ both of whom pulled in FOUR POINTS to share the coveted title of “Hot Shot of the Week”!
*** Let trumpets sound and canons roar ***
*** Let crowds go wild and yell “Encore!” ***

Shortly after, in came Dinkypuzzled to drop a STINK BOMB just as the clock read 09.10 and the last link had been spotted. Thereafter, the game rumbled on with just the occasional single hit and only ex-superchampion wickedtongue managing a late double hit for Two Points.

Next week, I hope that grannydi can launch her very own links ~ otherwise I’ll be happy to do the honours!

Wow, first to get a match!! I will probably be late next week, off to Aberdeen to see the grandkids for Xmas, then will be AWOL over Christmas and New Year, giving the English festivities a miss for the first time, going cruising in the Caribbean.

Oh dear! and I was beginning to get used to seeing my name on the board. Quel disaster!! Well done the high scorers, cliffyg and the wise old owl! I bet caslass will be on the board before Christmas too.
