I am with Orange as well and all my spam messages have gone. Orange did send an e mail explaining this, but what bothers me is that I am not able to see the spam messages to check that any real messages have not been binned along with the spam ones (I don't have a junk mail folder as far as I know!).
This is the e mail Orange sent:
That’s why, from the beginning of November, we’re going to start blocking all spam emails before they reach your inbox, redirecting them straight to your junk mail folder instead.
To do that, we’ll be making a small change to the spam setting on your account at our end. You don’t need to do anything.
The aim is to stop spam cluttering up your inbox. But it will also make a big difference if you use email software like Microsoft Express or Thunderbird, as they’ll no longer download any tagged spam emails.
Nothing’s ever completely perfect, of course. So it’s worth checking your junk mail folder every now and then in case a non-spam email gets sent there by accident. If this happens, just select it and click the button labelled ‘this is not spam’ to get it back. You can then add that sender to your approved list so it doesn’t happen again.
If you’d prefer to carry on receiving spam in your inbox, you still can: just log in to your account from www.orange.co.uk. Once in, click on my settings, anti-spam and select your junk mail folder. And for more info about spam, check out our help pages.
