Inflamation of chest wall

Hello, ive just been told by the hospital i have inflamation of the chest wall, is this bad and what causes it? Thank you

The moment I decided to have my thyroid gland removed was when the Consultant asked me at my 6 monthly outpatient appointment if 'I felt the need to come back to see him or would I like to be discharged' I was absolutely dumbstruck. Went private had op - best thing I did.

I've had that - it's pretty painful but cleared up after a few days on antibiotics

My usual consultant was Dr. Graham Toms at Oldchurch Hosp. he was a lovely man but jumped ship and went to Newham after Havering cut his budget. After he left it went downhill.

Pleurisy is horrible,but that is an infection of the lung lining,not inflammation of the chest wall.I get pleurisy around 3 times a year :-(

My money is on Costochondritis.

He's actually brilliant Sqad. The best partner in the practice and a very hard worker. Old school doctor in a relatively young (40's) man. Has been my GP for 19 years and I can't fault him. If he is in doubt then you get referred. And he pushes for the best treatment for his patients and won't stand any nonsense from the receptionists!! They say he is awful to work for because he is so exactlng. Trouble is it's now difficult to get an appointment with him - I want to see him at the moment but have to wait until Christmas Eve unless it's urgent or I will see another doctor :o(.

he sounds a gem, Lofty - good GPs are hard to find. I could write a book on the my experiences.

Hi Tamirra im sure that you replied to one of my questions regarding chest pains sometime back in June. Im still getting the chest pain and my doctor says I have benign chest wall pain sounds like something similar to what you have been diagnosed with. I remember you saying your symptoms were exactly the same as mine. I dont think its anything to worry about but go back to your doctor and ask for a more detailed explanation, afterall its what they are there for.
