Condensation

Does anyone have any ideas on how to get rid of excessive condensation in a car ?
My windscreen has so much of it on the inside - & I just can't seem to get rid of it !!!
If I try wiping it off - it just mists up & keeps coming back !

You may also be getting water into your heater ducting system due to leaves and other rubbish blocking the water drain pipes from the air intake chamber at the front of your windscreen. If the water can't drain away it can overflow into the air intake ducts. This could also cause wet mats in the front footwells.

When it's dry tip a small amount of water in the grill and see if it comes out by the front wheels. I'm assuming a Freelander has these drains.

Hi, has the motor been valeted recently? If so that's your problem. ( I do this in my spare time and see it all the time)

Yes Darren that will give out condensation as you say, also Depsy check the rear carpets in your car! are the wet? has the car had a new windscreen? check behind the drivers / passengers seat! are the carpets wet? Check under the bonnet in the direction of the water drain holes below the windscreen there is one each side, are they clear of leaves / rubbish? a lot of Qs in my answer but you have got to check before you find the cause.

Debsy-please don't be offended,but why are you bothering your pretty little head with such technical questions?
There's a simple solution-walk straight into the kitchen and set about making your man a delicious meal,warm his slippers and pour him a glass of wine-then ASK HIM FOR A SOLUTION TO YOUR PROBLEM.
Being male,he has a genetic disposition to understanding this sort of thing.

What worked on my car was to use a cloth with a few squirts of washing up liquid.

It's not very 'green' but I would suggest cracking the windows open a bit and leaving a blower heater in there for a couple of hours. Just make sure it's on a firm surface and not too close to anything that could get melted!
