Sick of the Car Insurance Adverts? I Was - Not Now
9 Answers
I went on the Go Compare site for house insurance renewal and was inundated with telephone calls but nothing compared to the quote I already had so I was reluctant when it came to my car insurance for this month. I then went to Confused.com and I have saved £93 This is for fully comprehensive cover with breakdown, a £200 excess (£50 less than previously) and no claims protection. (I have a Ford Focus 1.8 Sport 2007). I am pleased although you don't know what service the insurance companies provide until you have a claim. Hopefully I won't.

Decided to try them for car and saved £120 without even trying. No hassle. No phone calls. Just an online application and you are given a list of the best quotes. Both new policieswere roughly the same cover as before. What annoyed me most was that More Than kept telling me what a valued customer I am.

The excess looks fine to me. If you need to make a claim I would think £200 is neither here nor there. And if you don't claim in the first year, then you have saved nearly your entire excess anyway (well all but £14).
And for the record I saved about £100 a year on Confused.com, and no-one else can get close to the price I am paying.
