trouble cutting dogs nails

no problem doing it when he was a puppy. he is so scared when i try to do it and panics. i dont want to take him to the vet because i hate to see him so scared. is there any possible way to get him to chew his nails down??? all the nails on 3 of his paws he chews but the nails on the 1 paw he just lets grow. any help i shall appreciate :)

Even with the pedipaws (or dremmel, they do the same thing) you need to keep them still which is when you usually have a problem. Get someone else to hold the dog, not gripping too tight, and hold the paw with one hand and cut with the other. Mine all hate having it done even though its done from babies. I walk mine regularly on concrete paths on an airfield and that keeps them fairly short, but occasionall they have to be done, especially the dew claws which can grow round into the leg if you are not careful.

even stranger boo, ive just bought one and it just arrived in the post. Havent tried it yet but it probably is a waste of money looking at it. You still have to get the dog very still and my dog just freaks when I go near her feet and her nails are like talons. I tried when she was sleeping but she always wakes up when I go near her. I bought it in desperation,and I'll let you know if it works-I need to get the batteries today.
