Digital tv availability
5 Answers
The switchover for my area is not until 2012 but is there a website (or any other way) to know if digital signals are currently available here or, if not, when they will start to be broadcast?
I have been looking at digitaluk.co.uk but that just appears to say that the switchover is not for over 2 years, nothing about any intermediate period prior to the switchover when digital broadcasts wil have started but the analogue signal will still be available.
The bottom line is:- how long before the switchover does the digital signal start to be broadcast?

Thanks for the replies, especially the link to freeview. That says that I can't currently receive any but I wonder if it always says that until the switchover has actually happened?
Before moving within the local area last year, I was able to pick up a few freeview channels using a weak tv signal from a transmitter somewhere, but now, despite living not far from there, I can't seem to receive any. I bought an indoor digital tv antenna yesterday to see if anything is available but unfortunately there's nothing there. Oh well, just have to wait and see, I guess.
