I have a friend/chav/gyppo who gave the police false details when issued with a FPN for shoplifting 2 years ago. He paid it in cash £40 straight away and just forgot about it. Now he worried that if this guy ever checks his CRB it will show up, I said a FPN will not show up on his CRB but if the only thing linking him with the crime is cctv footage, that's if they keep it. And as this will never show up on his CRB it will never come to light that he gave false details in the first place and nobody will ever know. Am I right?

Unless he was fingerprinted in custody when issued with the FPN and hasn't been arrested since then it probably won't show up on a CRB. CCTV footage is filed away after use and almost certainly won't see the light of day again but in any case no one doing a CRB check would ever be allowed to have access to it. Most shops get rid of their CCTV after a month or so.
I am sure this offence will not show up on your, whoops, sorry, your mates crb, and anyway, if you, whoops, your mate, gave a false name and address, how would it show up against you, sorry, him.
