Somehow, I lost my Outlook Express 6 and couldn't get it back without having to resort to a re-installation of Windows XP so I decided to try Mozilla Thunderbird 3. I've tried it for ten minutes and it seems brilliant.
I could read my mail from within the Internet Explorer window by clicking on the 'read mail' envelope , configured from the 'add ons' and moved into place with the up/down positioning.
My question is : Is the same function available within Thunderbird and how do I achieve a similar result ?
I'm STILL learning.
Many thanks for any help.

I've been using Thunderbird for a long time now but until Lightning [an excellent calendar add-on] is updated to run with version 3 (hopefully within a few days) then I'm sticking with 2.0.0.23 and so haven't explored the new features like tabs.

I'm not clear on what functionality you're after; you presumably have emails being downloaded by Thunderbird, so what do you mean by moving them into place? Is this some type of sorting or just a way of arranging them ?

Thanks for the answer Jumbuck,
What I'm actually trying to achieve is the same procedure I was using when I went to the Google site and clicked on various sites AND whilst still in the Google page I could click on the small envelope symbol (representing mail) I had put next to the 'home' 'rss' 'print' 'page', etc. from the toolbars (customise) section. I then just clicked on that symbol and went straight to my Outlook Express 6 site and all of my mail loaded(after going through AVG checker) then I just had to close the site and be back in Google.
At the moment, well since Thursday, I'm having to leave the Google page to click and open Thunderbird to read my mail. I realise that I can have multiple pages open and that I can,if I want to, have half the screen with Google and the other half with Thunderbird.
I'm not sure if I'm explaining myself well enough but, I'm WELL PLEASED with Thunderbird. I've been aware of it for years but this is my first experience with it, probably because I hear that Microsoft are 'dumping' Outlook Express in favour of 'word mail' or something???
Anyway, back to work.

Thanks for your reply
